The Caminos al Bienestar grew out of a similar program that began in Santa Barbara. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the need to support mental health and overall well-being became more critical than ever. Families and communities were looking for support, and this inspired action.
In response, faculty, staff, and graduate students from Santa Clara University, alongside with local non-profits and dedicated community members, came together to form the foundation of what would become our wellness initiative.

Our goal is to empower individuals with tools they can use and share with others to build healthier, more resilient communities. We use a Train-the-Trainer model, preparing promotoras (community wellness advocates) to lead workshops and pass these skills on to their own networks.
